2027: Governor Bago Submits APC Forms for his Second Term Bid

The Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has submitted his expression of interest and nomination forms as part of the ongoing political process within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja.
Speaking shortly after the submission, in Abuja, the governor described the exercise as a demonstration of democracy in action, commending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for ensuring due process in the party.
Governor Bago explained that all aspirants, regardless of their political status, are required to complete, submit, and verify their forms before proceeding to the screening stage, noting that the process is open and transparent to everyone.
The governor also expressed appreciation to farmers in Niger State who contributed funds to support his purchase of the nomination form adding that the farmers, through small individual contributions, were able to raise over one hundred and fifty million naira, with fifty million naira used to purchase the form.
Bago further noted that the party is working towards achieving consensus among aspirants across the state.
However, he said where consensus is not reached, the party will adopt direct primaries to ensure a winner.
He reaffirmed his determination to inclusive governance and the continued development of Niger State.
