Suspected Military Bomb Kills 7, While 8 Others Hospitalized in Niger State

Bomb explosion has reportedly killed 7 innocent persons and injured about 8 others at Kukoki- Bassa community in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger state
The incident occurred on Thursday has resulted to lost of lives while several others sustained various degrees of injuries who were taken to the IBB Specialist Hospital Minna, who are currently receiving medical treatment.
It was gathered that the bomb was suspected from Nigeria Air Force mistakingly drop on a gathered crowd who were holding a meeting against the backdrop of suspected bandits movement towards a direction in their community while planning for a counter attack hence the sudden mistake bomb attack from alleged Air Force.
Community sources revealed that the Air Force counter terrorism team got wind of the movement of the suspected terrorists and were being thrilled and mistakingly missed their target that affected the innocent victims from the community in Niger state.
The Commander of Vigilante in Kukoki, Ayuba Umar Kamas in an interview on phone who confirmed the incident expressed dismay over the attack on their camp by an aircraft where they had gathered to strategize ahead of the potential attack by the suspected terrorists.
He noted that 7 of their members were killed consisting of four from Kukoki, one from Bassa and three from Matuku while 8 were injured as some of the victims had their two legs cut off completely.

Ayuba Kamas revealed that three aircraft were sighted but one came through their direction and hit them with bomb leading to the casualty on their side, he described as very unfortunate and painful losing such numbers of brave members.
The vigilante leader stated that the bandits in their numbers were moving on about 250 motorcycles while some of the criminals were conveying plenty cows rustled to their destination through their normal route, questioned why the attack on them and free movement of the suspected terrorists.
According to him, it was the Niger State Deputy Governor Comrade Yakubu Garba who is from the local government that was called and the injured were conveyed out of the area with motorcycles for onward transportation to IBB hospital in Minna for treatment.
He added that the only support they received was from their Rafi colleague vigilante to buried the victims, but they are yet to get support from the state and local governments to cushion the effects on the community, adding that the area is currently deserted following the attack and unexpected attacks from the bandits.

There are no official statements on the development on the side of government neither from the security agencies since the incident occurred at the time of filing this report.
