Hajiya Hadiza Mohammed Nami, the wife of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Niger State, Mohammed Nami, has pledged to sponsor the National Examinations Council (NECO) registration fees for 50 candidates from Lapai North Constituency.
The initiative, according to the organisers, is designed to support students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds and ensure that eligible candidates are not denied the opportunity to sit for the NECO examination due to financial constraints.
The intervention will initially benefit candidates from Lapai Local Government Area of Niger State, with the organisers describing the initiative as part of efforts to promote education and support young people in the community.
The programme is being coordinated under the leadership of Hajiya Balkisu Salihu and supervised by Muhammad Ndanusa Barije, the PDP candidate for the Niger State House of Assembly representing Lapai Constituency, in collaboration with Hamzat, popularly known as Bonanza.
The organisers said the sponsorship is intended to ease the financial burden on families and enable beneficiaries to pursue their educational aspirations without interruption.
They explained that investing in education remains essential to empowering young people, improving their future prospects and contributing to the overall development of Lapai and Niger State.
Organisers expressed appreciation to Hajiya Hadiza Mohammed Nami for the intervention, describing it as a meaningful contribution towards supporting education and creating opportunities for young people in the constituency.
