Niger State ADC Endorses Former Vice President Atiku for 2027 Presidential Election

The Niger State Chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has unanimously endorsed the candidature of the former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for the 2027 general elections in the country.
This is contained in a resolution reached after a meeting comprising the State Working Committee, the State Executive Commitee, the Council of Local Government Chairmen drawn from all the 25 Local Government Areas of Niger State, and the body of Ward Chairmen across the State, held in Minna.
The resolution signed by the State ADC Chairman Alhaji Abdulhamid El-Waziri said this follows an extensive and inclusive statewide consultations held across the length and breadth of Niger State, engaging stakeholders at all levels of the party structure.
According to him, the unanimous endorsement was sequel to the cogent, verifiable, and compelling grounds to includes: An Unimpeachable Record of Distinguished Public Service of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has devoted the better part of five decades to the service of the Nigerian State.
El-Waziri maintained that Atiku Abubakar is an Indefatigable Champion of Nigerian Democracy, a Unifying Force Across the National Landscape, Proven Governance Capacity and Economic Vision, Special Ties to Niger State and the North-Cen ral Geopolitical Zone.
Therefore, after a thorough and dispassionate review of the presidential aspirants, a careful assessment of their individual capacities, their records of public service, their national acceptability, and their demonstrable readiness to successfully confront the formidable machinery of the ruling party, they have arrived at a decision that is both considered and resolute.
The Niger State Chapter of ADC Reaffirmed its unflinching commitment to the unity and strength of the African Democratic Congress as the platform of choice for Nigerians who desire a genuine alternative to the current administration.
The party pledges the full mobilisation of its machinery, membership, and resources toward securing victory for the party and its presidential candidate in the 2027 general election.
El-Waziri added that, Atiku Abubakar has devoted the better part of five decades to the service of the Nigerian State from his formative years as a meritorious offi er of the Nigeria Customs Service, where he rose to the highest attainable rank on the strength of discipline and competence, to his transformative tenure as the Vice President of Nigeria from 1999 to 2007, he has consistently demonstrated the highest standards of statesmanship in the country.
He noted that the Niger State Chapter of the ADC and all voting members in the Presidential Primary scheduled for 25th and 26th May 2026 undertake to give expression to this resolve by casting their votes in favour of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, so that the African Democratic Congress may present to Nigeria a candidate of proven capacity, tested character, and national stature.
According to him, “the task before us — to defeat an incumbent whose tenure has been marked by the capture of public in: titutions, the strangulation of dissent, and the systematic dismantling of the welfare of ordinary Nigerians — demands that we rally around the most credible, most capable, and most electable candidate in our ranks. That candidate is His Excellency Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. We speak with one voice, we act with one purpose, and we march toward 2027 with one resolve: Nigeria must be rescued, and the ADC is the vehicle; Aliku Abubakar is the driver.
