Niger State Gov’t Dispels Rumour of Alleged Bandits Attack in the State

Niger State Commissioner for Homeland and Security Barrister Maurice Magaji has dispelled the rumor going round social media and other quarters of alleged bandits plan attack in parts of Minna and other towns of the state.
A statement issued by the commissioner disclosed that the rumor is not true and unfounded however, urged the general public to disregard the speculation and go about their legitimate businesses without fear of any suspected attacks.
He assured that governor Mohammed Umar Bago’s administration is leaving now stone unturned to ensure the security of lives and property of the residents of Niger state.
Barrister Maurice Magaji further said that the security agencies in the state are at alert combat ready for any eventuality, adding that the state government is working assiduously to ensure the peace and stability of the state.
Similarly, the Niger State Police Command has said that it is false and misleading report circulating in public space, alleging that schools in Bosso, Kpakungu, Sabon-Wuse and Lambata areas were attacked by hoodlums.
The Command Police Public Relations Officer PPRO SP Wasiu Abiodun in a statement issued in Minna, said the police had visited all the schools mentioned in these areas and no such attack occurred in any school within the State.
The Police Command urged members of the public to disregard this false information which is suspected to have originated from mischief makers to cause panic and fear in the public and school environment.
According to Abiodun, intelligence investigation has commenced to unravel the source of the false report, identify and arrest the mischief makers.
The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, mnips had earlier directed DPOs to work closely with school administrators in line with school protection initiatives and police visibility patrols are ensured around the schools for safety of students, staff and the community.
