The Elders Forum from Katcha and Gbako local government areas of Niger state have resolved to zone its Federal House of Representative representing Bida/Katcha/Gbako to either Katcha or Gbako come 2027 elections for justice, fairness and inclusiveness.

The Chairman, Katcha Concerned Stakeholders Forum who is also the Interface Committee Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Katcha in the two resolutions reached at the end of Gbako/Katcha stakeholders interface meeting contained in a communique issued in Minna.

According to the communiqué, the interface committee has resolved that the next member house of representative representing Bida-Katcha- Gbako federal constituency must be within Gbako and Katcha local government areas.

The committee further stressed the need for unity, love, and affection among Gbako and Katcha local governments by speaking with one voice.

Also speaking, the chairman, Katcha Elders Forum Mohammed Dangana Kudogi who concord with the resolutions reached, said that as an All Progressives Congress APC loyalist there was the need for fairness, justice, equity and inclusivity to foster peace and stability within the area through equal opportunity for all.

Findings revealed that out of the three local councils that consisted of the federal constituency only Katcha local government is left without any position, noting that Bida has the Governor and House of Representative, Gbako has the position of the Minister and Senator hence the need to allow Katcha to produce the next house of representative to ensure balance and zoning formular.
