Sheikh Adam Expresses Disappointment Over Governor Bago’s Administration
By YM Bina
A renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Adam, has expressed disappointment over the administration of Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, saying the governor has not lived up to the expectations he presented to the people during the 2023 general elections.
Sheikh Adam stated this during an interview in Minna, while he spoke about his experiences and involvement in the 2023 political process.
The scholar said he was initially convinced to support Governor Bago after family members, friends and some of his students persuaded him to do so.
According to him, they presented Governor Bago as a leader with a clear mission to move Niger State forward, but he said developments since the governor assumed office have made him disappointed.
Sheikh Adam also expressed concern over what he described as a lack of respect for prominent Nigerian leader and elder statesman who is a Niger state endigene, the former military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida.
He said his observations about the governor’s administration and other developments in the state contributed to his decision to change his position and participate in politics so as to make his own contribution to the development of Niger state.
