Terrorist Attack Claims Over 40 Lives in Niger Communities

Terrorits have reportedly killed over 40 persons which includes security operatives, vigilantes and civilians while houses were set ablaze in Bagna, Erena and Yelwa communities of Shiroro local government area of Niger state .

Sources revealed that about thirty special forces, secret security, and ten vigilantes have reportedly lost their lives during the encounter following the ambush of the personnel around their camp.

It was further gathered that  Bagna community was attacked by the terrorists on Tuesday morning leading to the flee of villagers who have abandoned their houses.

A resident of the area who Spoke on condition of anonymity said, ” over 200 terrorists invaded Bagna early this morning and have been burning houses using explosives. As at now this evening, Bagna community is on fire with rising thick smoke “.

Our reporter also gathered that that at ten vigilantes  were killed many injured and hospitalised as their camp shared with the DSS was burnt down while trying to to confront the terrorists but were out numbered as well due to their sophisticated weapons

Earlier, it was revealed that on Monday the terrorists had rustled several cattle from Nada village in Shiroro local government but apparently lost their route before finding themselves in Bagna community were they launched several attack on the people.

The Niger State Commissioner for Homeland and Security Barrister Morris Magaji confirmed the incident when contacted but could not give details of the casualties.
