Rafi Foundation Calls on Kagara Emirate Stakeholders to Unite Towards the Development of the Area

Rafi Development Foundation (RDF), has decried the decay in educational infrastructures in Kagara Emirate, calling on all relevant stakeholders in the Emirate to as a matter of concern wake up to priotise education through revamping infrastructural facilities of the sector in Rafi Local Government.
The Forum made the plea in a meeting attended by members of the Foundation held in Minna, while discussing issues that affected the welfare and infrastructural deficit especially as it affects the education sector in the area.
The Foundation raises concern over the development at the IBB University Study Centre, Tegina on the dilapidated classrooms as a result of blown-off roofs by last year’s rainstorm which led to the admitted students not attending classes.
The Forum also raises concern over security challenges that poses another challenge towards the educational system within the Emirate which resulted to closure of some schools within the affected communities, this has also led to relocation of Government Science College, Kagara to a temporary site at the Father O’Connel Science Secondary School, Minna.
An adhoc committee was, set up to visit the temporary location of the school for appropriate recommendations towards the development of the school.
The five man committee under the leadership of the Kaigaman Kagara, Mal. Abdullahi Garba ASAB have other members as Dr. Ibrahim Chindo Bisallah, Abdullahi Mohammed Kagara, Muhammad Hadi Pandogari and Mohammed Ahmad Ushama ATOM.
The committee, according to the leadership, have visited the school and made some very useful and vital recommendations to the Foundation as well as other stakeholders including the Alma-mata of the school.
Among facilities visited include the classrooms and dormitories that will serve the 150 students to be admitted to SS1.
Issue of Justice Fati Lami Abubakar Institute for Legal and Administrative Studies (FLAILAS), Kagara Study Centre, was also brought to the fore and meaningful discussions and suggestions were taken to enable the Foundation chart a course and bring a way out of the problems bedeviling the establishment of the Centre.
The Foundation in its bid to foster mutual relationship among members, the Chairman of the Foundation, Mal. Ibrahim Ahmed Ushama, who also holds the traditional title of  Sarkin Yakin Kagara, announced the demise of one of its founding member who also doubles as the Foundation’s Scribe, Mal. Ibrahim Garba (Atanda) who was with the Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru. Special prayers were offered for the repose of the soul of the departed.
A committee was however formed to visit and condole the family of the deceased, and an undisclosed amount of money was set to be donated as Sadaqah to the bereaved family.
The Forum concluded the seating by appreciating the Farmer Governor Umar Mohd Bago who is equally the Gwarzon Kagara for his visit to Kagara during the Edil-Fitr Festival and demonstration of love always for the Kagara Emirate.
Others commended included the Emir of Kagara Mal. Ahmad Garba Gunna II, Hon Commissioner, Dr Ibrahim Ahmed Inga Kaga, Hon Chairman, Dr Ayuba Usman Katako for the strong scenergy and commitment in working together for the development of the area.
