The Concern Nigerlites Forum has called on the federal government to sack the Vice Chancellor Professor Faruk Adamu Kuta of Federal University of Technology FUT Minna over what it described as sabotage of Niger state government.

The convener of the group, Comrade Mohammed Mohammed made this known while speaking to journalists during their peaceful protest at the Bosso Campus of the University in Minna.

He accused professor Farouk Adamu Kuta of instigating the ASUU, NANIS and Alumni against the State governor and the Pro- Chancellor of FUT Minna Dr Mohammed Kudu Santuraki, noted that his actions is capable of causing serious security challenges in the University and the entire state.

The protesters who were carrying placards with various prescriptions to press home their demands to include; ordering for temporary closure of the institution if the situation escalate, respect the directive of the Minister of Education by allowing the governing council to carry out its mandate, and embrace dialogue as well allowed the medical students from IBBU Lapai to make use of part of the FUT facility.

The convener further revealed that the initiatives were aimed at ensuring that the medical students of the state owned university were not left behind academically as required, hence the need to allow the use of the facilities accordingly.

Mohammed reiterated that the institutional misunderstanding has now escalated that is threatened to public peace, calling for adherence to the directive of the Minister of Education by allowing the governing council to over the matter and engaged the Niger state government with the view to reaching an amicable resolution.
