MAGI Announces Comr. Lafene As New Board Chairman to Drive Institutional Growth

Millennium Africa Global Initiative [MAGI] has announced the appointment of Comrade Idrees Abdulkreem Lafene as the new Board Chairman of the Non Governmental Organization.

The new appointment of a new Board Chairman and Board Members following a unanimous decision at the Joint Board and Executive Meeting held on 15th May 2026 at the organization’s office in Minna, Niger State.

This is contained in a statement issued by the National Coordinator of MAGI Ambassador Marshall Okoro in Minna, saying that the appointment recognizes Lafene’s over 8 years of distinguished service in board leadership, humanitarian work, and community development.

According to him, his track records of integrity, vision, and commitment to social impact positions him to lead MAGI into its next phase of growth and global impact.

Comrade Idrees Abdulkareem Lafene is the current Chairman Niger State chapter of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC)

In line with the organization’s restructuring and institutional strengthening process, the previous Board was formally dissolved. The new Board comprises both newly appointed and re-appointed members selected for their expertise, dedication, and alignment with MAGI’s mission in youth empowerment, education, environmental sustainability, humanitarian intervention, peacebuilding, and sustainable African development.

Newly Appointed Board Members includes:

1. Hon. Bala Muhammed  Jamuje

2. Alh. Adekunle Abdul Waheed, Bango Minna

3. Comrade Usman Abubakar Dabban

4. Comrade Adamu Mohammed Akayago

5. Comrade Isah Mahmud

6. Hon. Danjuma Abdul Masu

Re-appointed Board Members were:

1. Amb. Abdullahi Wasagi

2. Alh. Suleiman Ibrahim Kato

3. Alh. Suleiman Bala Annu

4. Comr. Abdullahi Abubakar Erana

5. Dr. Mustapha Jibril Alheri

  6. Hon. Abdullahi D. Aliyu

The official induction and inauguration ceremony for the new Board Chairman and Board Members will hold as follows:
