Mass Resignation Hits Niger government Ahead of 2027 Elections

The Niger State Government has witnessed mass exodus of political appointees ranging from the cabinet members and other appointees aimed to pursuit their political ambitions in the state.

It was reliably gathered that aside political appointees, some civil servants are also involved in the current resignations to join their choice of political party in order to participate in the forthcoming elections scheduled for twenty twenty seven.

Although, this is not peculiar to Niger state alone but some concern observed with dismay over the risk taken by those resigning if it goes the other way not in their favour during the polls.

It was further revealed that some appointees resigned because of their inability to fulfilled their dreams of impacting positively on their community but as political appointees and civil servants failed to actualize such aspirations hence finding a way in politics.

Consequently, many states governors and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given ultimatum to appointees who are interested in contesting elections should tender their resignation at least three months before period as allowed by the constitution of Nigeria.

In same vein, Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris had issued directive for his appointees intending to contest elections to resign their appointments, the same thing to the Bornu state governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum while their counterpart the governor  of Ondo State Lucky Aiyedatiwa sacked his all aides ahead of the forthcoming elections.
