Minister of Information Charges Citizens to Hold Govs Accountable for Underdevelopment

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris Malagi has charged Nigerians to hold their state governors accountability if development in their respective states does not meet their expectations.
Speaking at the 34th Convocation ceremony and 43rd Founders Day of Federal University of Technology, Minna, the Minister said president Tinubu led administration has given state governors enough money since 2023 that ought to have translated into human and capital development across all states.
He insisted that governors should be held accountable for failure to judiciously utilize such funds, leaving their citizens without progress, while urging the state governor’s to retrace their steps by going back on the drawing board to plan for the development of their States.
Idris Malagi stressed that the state governments currently received three times, four or five times allocations from the federal government on monthly basis then what was received by their predicessors hence the people should ask questions if they can not see progress of their state.
The Minister who was optimistic about the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration in ensuring the successful realization of the Renewed Hope Agenda and the reforms of the federal government is creating massive waves of opportunity in every sector, urging young Nigerians to take advantage in this era of national reforms.
He advised Nigerian’s especially the youths to participate, show interest in politics and the activities of governance by paying much attention to public service to enhance nation building and development of their state, communities as well to redirect government on the right path.
Malagi however warned that any state governor who did not take advantage of the federal government current reforms to plan for the sustainable development of their state have deliberately denied the citizens the needed growth and progress should stop blaming the president.
He maintained that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration has gone extra mile to send a strong message that the opportunities created were open and available to all Nigerian’s regardless of agenda, age, creed, ethnicity, tongue, or region.
