Niger Information Ministry Partners Police on Strategic Information Mgt

Niger state Ministry of Information and Orientation has called for active collaboration with the Niger state Police Command in the areas of security and information dissemination to nip in the bud cases of security challenges bedeviling some parts of the state.
The Commissioner of Information and Orientation, Mr Obed Nuhu Nana made the call when he paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police in charge of Niger state CP, Adamu Abdullahi Elleman at the police headquarters in Minna, to seek for partnership and applauded the CP for his tactical security measures put in place in the state.
Mr Obed Nuhu Nana informed the Niger state Commissioner of Police that, they have been seeing his hand work of proactive policing in the state and therefore applauded him on behalf of the Niger state Government for doing a great job worthy of commendation.
He said to achieve the desired objective with relative ease, Niger state Ministry of Information and Orientation has set up a Security Information Room where the Commissioner of Police had allowed the Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Police, Wasi’u Abiodun to join, saying that his feed back to the group has been encouraging
Mr Obed Nana explained that the newly recruited one hundred and fifty Information Officers in Niger state are currently undergoing some rigorous training in Minna to be posted to all the agencies that are in need of their services as well as all the twenty five Local Government Areas for effective service delivery of information dissemination and responsible reportage.
The Niger state Commissioner of Information and Orientation also said they are ever ready to correct the misconception and mutual mistrust by some people on the achievements of Governor Mohammed Umar Bago as much attention is on the negative aspect which he said is not equal to the achievements government has put on ground, even though he said were politically motivated.
Responding, the CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman expressed joy and excited to received them in his office stressing that information is power, because without information the society will be thrown into darkness, while calling on them as their eyes as ears to inform them on anything they hear from public that they have done either good or bad and they are ready to correct themselves.
CP Adamu Elleman then reassured them of the protection for staff of Niger State Ministry of Information and Orientation in the twenty five Local Government Areas to discharge their duties effectively and diligently for the good of all.
