Niger Islamic Cleric Urged President Tinubu to Reconsider Some FG Policies due to Hardship

A Prominent Islamic Scholar in Niger state has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to urgently addressed the insecurity, poverty, economic hardship and lack of electricity supply challenges bedeviling the country.
The NUPE Ramandan Tafseer presenter, and Chief Imam Bosso Estate Juma’at mosque who is also the Niger State Director General Religious Affairs, Dr Umar Farouq Abdullahi made this known while closing twenty twenty six Nupe Ramadan Tafsir in Minna.
Imam Umar Farouq decried over the persistent insecurity, increase poverty rates and economic hardship facing Nigerians majorly caused by the current undesired policies introduced by the presend APC led federal government especially the removal of oil subsidy and the new tax reform system.
The Chief Imam of Bosso Estate, insisted that the removal of fuel subsidy and the new tax reforms arẹ not in the best interest of Nigerians and urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should consider to re-visit those unpopular policies while calling for discouragement of sentimental politics based on tribe and religion.
He further revealed that the Nigerian supreme council and that of Ulamas are on discussion to present their decision to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the matters regarding the allegations of Christian genocide in Nigeria.
According to him, “the people of Niger State will go all out tọ cast their votes during the 2027 General elections” while he thanked various religious groups in the state for their support and cooperation.
In her remarks, the Niger state Commissioner for Eeducation, Doctor Hadiza Asabe Muhammed called on Nupe parents especially the mothers and caregivers to bring closer their children and monitor their movement to ensure better moral upbringing of Nupe community.
She lamented that if no urgent action is taken, the good history of Nupe will perish in terms of dressing and appearance as well as discipline among Nupe youth, described as worrisome if not checked on time.
Similarly, the Estu NUPE and Chiarman Niger state council of traditional rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar represented by Alhaji Ndagi Aliyu, who applauded Nupe community for the large turnout for the Tafsir centers, calling on Nupe Islamic clerics to mentor the younger ones on the Tafsir and other aspects of education in Nupe language considering its advantages in propogating Islam knowledge among the Nupe people.
Also speaking, the Chiarman Tafseer committee, Alhaji Muhammad Nda Malaman Kutigi, commended all those who contributed in cash or kind towards the success of the Tafseer, particular Governor Muhammad Umar Bago of Niger state for his total support to the Tafseer committee.
Highlight of the event was the presentation of award of excellence to the Tafseer preseter, Imam Umar Farouq Abdullahi by his media team, and presentation of award to some diginitries sustaining their support for the Nupe Tafsir in the last twenty eight years of its existence.
