Niger Police Command Arrests 71 Criminal Suspects, Recovered Items in July

Niger State Police command has arrested 71 suspected for various crimes in the last one month of July 2026 with some already charged to court for prosecution while others still undergoing investigation in its custody.

The Niger State Commissioner of Police CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman during a press briefing and parading of suspects at the police headquarters in Minna, said within the period under review ten AK Rifles and fifteen AK Magazines were Recovered as well 330 Ammunitions was also Recovered from criminals in the state.

According to him, Children Rescued were 9 and one Abducted Baby Rescued, 17
Goats Recovered while 4 Cows Recovered in addition to three
Motorcycles and two Motor Vehicles Recovered as well within the month.

While the CP assured to sustain the tempo of getting raid of criminal hideout in the state also disclosed to have recorded tremendous achievements to include: recovery of Half bag of rice, Cannabis and other illicit substances, ₦330,000 cash, another ₦22,000 cash.

Other Exhibits Recovered were: Three cartons of tramadol and two bags of cannabis, Sixteen cutlasses,Two knives, Sharp sickle, Shovel, Digger, Three plastic pistols, Sixteen ATM cards, Three POS machines, 105 Fake NIN Cards and 189 Fake Voters Cards, Six mobile phones, Four assorted mobile phones, Face mask, Jewelry, Twenty pairs of clothes respectively.

CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman emphasized that the Niger State Police Command remains resolute in its commitment to intelligence-led policing, proactive crime prevention and effective law enforcement.

He noted that the achievements recorded reflect the dedication, professionalism and resilience of officers and men of the Command, supported by credible intelligence and cooperation from members of the public.

The CP therefore urged residents to continue providing timely and actionable information that will assist security agencies in identifying and apprehending criminal elements so as to continue to build a safer and more secure Niger State for all.
