Police Parades Six Member Gang of Kidnappers in Niger State

Niger State Police command has paraded Six suspects for Criminal Conspiracy, Armed Robbery, Kidnapping and Culpable Homicide with recovery of Ten AK rifles after been arrested by the tactical teams of the command.

Parading the suspects at the command headquarters in Minna, the State Police Commissioner Adamu Abdullahi Elleman disclosed that based on reports of incessant kidnapping around Garam, Chachi, Ijah-Gwari, Ijah-Koro, Gauraka and Kaduna road, they swung into action and apprehended the suspects.

He said sequel to intelligence received one Samaila Shefiu a.k.a Yakumujuri 45yrs of Barikin-Sale who was among the kingpins terrorizing the above mentioned areas including Kubwa and Bwari areas of FCT, Abuja was arrested around Kpakungu roundabout with the aid of technical intelligence.

Elleman stated that three kidnapped victims were rescued and five other suspects were arrested in the process, they include; Amadu Abdullahi a.k.a Kachalla Baban-Tsoho of Kidandam forest via Birnin-Gwari, Kaduna State,
Adamu Abubakar of Igede village via Mashegu local government,Mohammed Tasiu of Kaduna road, Sani Shehu of Kaduna road, and Bashir Aliyu a.k.a Kachalla Mallam of Kaduna road.

Samaila further confessed that during one of their operations in Kubwa, a woman and her son were kidnapped and while the woman was pleading for them not to kill her son, he stated that one of their member called Yakubu presently at large shot the son dead and later released the woman after ransom was collected.

Suspected Samaila led the Police team to Bwari where two AK-49 rifles were also recovered with 36 rounds of live ammunition. All the suspects are in custody undergoing further investigation and efforts to apprehend other accomplices are in progress.

The CP hinted that following sustained intelligence-led policing, strategic deployment of personnel, aggressive patrols, raids of criminal hideouts and improved collaboration with members of the public has led to the successful operations.
