Niger State Tertiary Institutions Union Introduces New Leadership to Government

The Committee of Unions in Niger State Tertiary Institutions (CUNOTI) officially presented its newly elected leaders to the Niger State Government.

A press statement given to journalists in Minna, signed jointly by Dr. Saidu Adamu Paiko, outgoing Chairman, and Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Hassan, outgoing Secretary, stated that the new leaders were elected during the 3rd quarterly meeting of CUNOTI held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at the School of Health Technology, Minna.

The elected officials responsible for managing the union’s affairs include:
1) Comrade Dr. Yahaya Madaki, Chairman
2) Comrade Usman Sule Chindo, Vice Chairman
3) Comrade Suleiman Ishaq, Vice Chairman
4) Comrade Tijani Mohammed, Assistant Secretary
5) Comrade Dr. Hassan Suleiman, Treasurer
6) Comrade Umar Yusuf, Welfare Officer
7) Comrade Yunusa Yakubu Alheri, Auditor
8) Comrade Abdullahi Ibrahim, Public Relations Officer
9) Comrade Peter Baba Bake, Financial Secretary
10) Comrade Dr. Saidu Adamu Paiko, Ex-Officio
11) Comrade Dr. Salihu Mohammed Rijau, Secretary

According to the statement, the new leadership will continue to represent the collective interests of union members and staff across Niger State’s tertiary institutions.

They added that CUNOTI is dedicated to building friendly and productive relationships with the Niger State government based on mutual respect, constructive engagement, and a shared vision to advance tertiary education and enhance staff welfare in the state.

Dignitaries at the inauguration included the Provost of the School of Health Technology, Minna, Hajiya Zulliahat Abdullahi, along with other principal officers
