Niger Police Arrest 3 Suspects for Cow Theft, Motorcycle Theft

Police surveillance team attached to Kpakungu Div while on routine patrol along Bida-Minna road by Gidan-Kwano, intercepted a red Toyota Corolla vehicle coming from Bida axis, conveying a cow, but during an attempt to stop the vehicle for search and questioning, the driver zoomed off.

This is contained in a press statement issued by the Niger State command Police Public Relations Officer PPRO SP Wasiu Abiodun in Minna.

He said the team professionally chased the vehicle and three suspects were arrested around Talba Estate road, to include:Tukur Ado of Doko via Lavun, Musa Ibrahim of Sabo-Angwan, Maitumbi and Isah Madaki of Angwan-Kampani, Minna respectively.

The suspects were arrested in possession of a cow conveyed with the said vehicle bearing Reg. No. AE 889 KGK. In the course of interrogation, suspects confessed to having stolen the animal around Kateregi area of Katcha LGA. Case under further investigation.

Similarly, based on information received by Gawu-Babangida Division that one Jeremiah Dogara 28yrs of Kateri village, via Kagarko LGA of Kaduna State was sighted at Diko junction with a Bajaj motorcycle without any document trying to dispose it at a giveaway price and suspected to have been stolen.

Police operatives moved to the location, and the suspect was arrested. During interrogation, he confessed that he stole the motorcycle from someone in Kateri village within the month of August.

The motorcycle was recovered and the suspect was charged to court for prosecution, while effort is ongoing to locate the rightful owner of the said motorcycle.
