NRC Investment Collapses Devastated Thousands of Nigerlites, Nigerians Across the Country

Thousands of people in Niger state and Nigerians across the country were reportedly been left devastated after the collapsed of the National Reading Culture (NRC), a digital “read-and-earn” platform that required investors daily income for reading online novels and completing simple tasks.
The platform, which gained popularity recently had attracted participants from across the country with assurances of consistent earnings and attractive returns on investment. However, it has now reportedly ceased operations, since on Tuesday 7th July, 2026 leaving users unable to access their accounts or withdraw their funds as usual after heavy investment by individuals.
Reports revealed that the NRC operated a tiered VIP membership system that required participants to make upfront payments before gaining access to higher earning opportunities.
Registration fees reportedly ranged from N18,900 for lower-tier packages as VIP 1, N54,000 VIP 2, to as much as N174,000 VIP 3 for premium levels, N450,000 VIP 4 and above for VIP 5 with users promised increased daily income based on their membership category.
Apprently, after subscribing, members were assigned straightforward daily reading tasks, primarily involving online novels and other digital content. The platform claimed participants would receive guaranteed daily payouts upon completing these activities, encouraging many Nigerians to view the scheme as a reliable source of passive income.
Many Nigerlites and Nigerians across the country have reportedly earned from the voluntary investment especially with their weekly withdrawals until the unfortunate sudden collapsed after many unsuspected victims have invested their hard earned money into it.
Moreover, the promised of regular earnings reportedly attracted thousands of users, many of whom invested substantial amounts of money. Existing members also encouraged relatives, friends, and colleagues to join, believing the platform to be a legitimate income-generating opportunity.
Tension began to mount wwhen users suddenly discovered that the NRC website had become inaccessible. Shortly afterward, communication channels between the platform’s operators and members reportedly went silent, leaving participants unable to log into their accounts or process withdrawal requests.
However, the disappearance of the operators has triggered widespread fear and frustration among affected users, many of whom now frustrated to have permanently lost their investments.
Consequently, the actual amount of the financial damage has yet to be officially established, preliminary estimates suggest that the losses could run into billions of naira, with thousands of Nigerians believed to have been affected by the platform’s collapse.
The incident has renewed concerns over the growing number of online investment schemes and digital earning platforms that promise unusually high or guaranteed returns.
Some financial experts have repeatedly warned that legitimate investments carry varying degrees of risk and that any platform guaranteeing fixed, extraordinary profits with little or no risk should be approached with caution. However, victims are praying for the reopening of the website, resumption of the NRC activities to enable them withdraw their earnings and decide if to continue with the investment.
Speaking with the skybulletnews in Minna, some victims said their earnings are not enough hence the need to invest in opportunities to enable them take care of their family needs and inspire for better life leading to their involvement in the business.
It was reliably gathered that the platform has since yesterday Thursday on the platform or dashboard of the NRC informed to have commenced updates of notifying on their upgrades, and to effect withdraw as usual from next week.
According to findings, various categories of people were involved in the investment which includes: civil servants, retirees, petty business owners both men and women, youths, students, security operatives, politicians, public servants, okada and tricycle riders among others.
It was further discovered that many residents of Niger state have earlier been withdrawing from their investments worth millions of naira depending on individuals amount invested for several months now on weekly based before the sudden collapsed.
