Security Intensifies Rescue Operation For Abducted Worshippers In Niger State

The Inspector General of Police, Tunji Disu has deployed the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of zone seven, Victor Olaiya to coordinate the rescue operation of worshippers recently abducted by suspected bandits in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger state

The operation will be conducted in collaboration with other security agencies, to ensure that the victims were rescued safely.

Niger state Commissioner of Police, Adamu Abdullahi Elleman made this known on Thursday while briefing Newsmen in an interactive session in Minna, appreciates the Niger state Government for providing them with necessary support needed to succeed in its operations.

CP who was represented by the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO, Niger state Command, Superintendent of Police Wasiu Abiodun, Elleman explained that the real rescue operation of abducted victims begins today in strict compliance with the directive of the Inspector General of Police, Tunji Disu.

According to the Niger state Commissioner of Police,  they are currently analysing their intelligence and strategizing for a hitch free rescue mission to be assisted by among other things such as the counter terrorism unit and the EOD, provided by the Inspector General of Police to aid their work, for effective service delivery.

Also speaking,  the Niger State Commissioner for Homeland Security, Maurice Bello Magaji, disclosed that the state Government under the leadership of Governor Mohammed Umar Bago, will continue to provide security agencies with all the necessary support needed to nip in the bud cases of security challenges bedeviling it’s people.

The Commissioner regretted for some group of individuals trying to politicize insecurity bedeviling the state and Nigeria, calling on the communities to support in the fight against terrorists and other criminalities in their domain. While on humanitarian supports the security will take charge for now.

He maintained that no matter how devil will last, it will definitely overcome it, adding that no government will be happy with the killing of its citizens, hence the state government prioritizing security of lives and properties by the current administration in Niger state.

Maurice Magaji however called for collective efforts by all and sundry in the fight against insecurity in parts of Niger State, stressing that peace is the prerequisite for any meaningful development.
