Danmajen Gwandu Foundation Reaffirms Commitment to People’s Empowerment

The Managing Director, Danmajen Gwandu Foundation, Engr. Umar Ahmed Farouk, has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the people of Kebbi State through projects that directly impact the lives of the less privileged.

He made the pledge while briefing journalists shortly after the flag-off ceremony of the official launch of the “Mu Gudu Tare Mu Tsira Tare Foundation and Support Programme, held at Haliru Audu Stadium, Birnin Kebbi.

Danmajen said his mission and vision remain to drive positive development in the state through the foundation’s initiatives.

“We will continue to prioritise interventions that create jobs, reduce poverty, and restore dignity to vulnerable groups,” he stated.

The programme, designed to support 100,000 women, was organised in collaboration with the Nasara Foundation, an initiative of the wife of the Kebbi State Governor, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Idris.

Speaking through one of his associates, Kabiru Labbo (Ajiyan Jega) and Umar Aliten (Danfari), the MD announced a donation of N40 million as part of his  contribution to the programme.

He added that thousands of orphans have already benefited from the Danmaje’s  humanitarian gestures.

“Recently, Danmajen Gwandu foundation empowered thousands of youth and widows with various skills acquisition programmes to enable them become self-employed,”Danfari, said.

He said beyond economic empowerment, the foundation had also invested heavily in social infrastructure.

The MD stressed that his foundation’s approach is community-driven, saying: “We conduct needs assessments before any intervention.”

Ahmed Faruk said the interventions align with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly on poverty reduction, quality education, and gender equality.

He expressed the readiness of the foundation to partner with government agencies and other NGOs to scale impact.

The MD urged other philanthropists and well-meaning individuals to emulate Nasara Nasare Kauran Gwandu’s gesture and continue supporting the less privileged in the state.

“Complementing government efforts is the only way we can fast-track development. No government can do it alone,” he said.
