Farmers, Herders Clash Claims Ten Lives in Niger State Community

No fewer than ten people have been reportedly killed and many houses burnt in a tribal clash between the Fulani’s and Kamuku in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger state.

The incident occurred on Tuesday described as more of a reprisal of the earlier incident that occured between the same tribal groups some weeks ago when one person has been killed.

Reports revealed that the unfortunate incident happened in the two villages of Mararraban Gwadaro and Tashan Bako, in Rafi Local Government Area of the state

According to reports, some people considered the incident as more of a reprisal attack, however expressed dismay that women and children are the worst hit among the casualties recorded, while calling for an urgent intervention from the security agencies and governments to address the menace.

Responding, the Chairman of Rafi Local Government Area, Ayuba Usman Katako who did not mentioned the number of casualties said investigation has commenced to unravel those responsible for the act, with a view to punish offenders and serve as deterrent to others.

Usman Katako maintained that no responsible government will fold its arms and allow its people to be killed without stamping it’s authority with a view to bringing such problems to a halt.

He noted that security agencies in their numbers have already been drafted to the area to nip in the bud cases of violence in parts of the Local Government towards safeguarding the lives and properties of its people.
