Gov. Bago Urges Aggrieved APC Members to Close Ranks Ahead of 2027

Aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress APC in the just concluded Senatorial and House of Representatives Primaries in Niger state have been advised to close ranks and work collectively towards the success of the party in subsequent elections.

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago gave the advice shortly after the declaration of results by the Chairman House of Representatives Primaries Election Committee for Niger State, Danlami Mohammed Abubakar held at the Government House Minna.

Mohammed Bago then reminded them that in every contest there must be a winner and loser but what is more important is accepting the outcome of the election in good fate and in the spirit of sportsmanship.

According to him, Government is too large to accommodate everybody as such there is no need for wranglings within members of the largest party in Africa but instead should unite and come together to enhance their chances of winning future elections.

Speaking on the issue of consensus candidate which was adopted by APC in Niger State during the primaries, the governor explained that they have built a lot of consensus in the state which had made their job very easy.

He expressed optimism that the consensus arrangement worked out well for them and they are still building consensus in subsequent elections to keep their party intact, and however commended members of committee for doing a great job, as well as the APC Vice Chairman North Central Muazu Bawa Rijau, and Minister of State for Agriculture, Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi including the stakeholders for their untiring efforts.

Bago however, congratulated those that have won the party primaries to emerge as candidates and charged them to stretch out to those they have contested against and those that gave way for them towards building a stronger party.

The governor stressed the need for them not to take it for granted but to work as a team to ensure the success of APC in the general elections.

Among those who attended the declaration of results are the Speaker Niger State House of Assembly, Barrister Abdulmalik Sarkin-daji, Secretary to the Niger State Government, Usman Abubakar, Senator Sani Musa and other APC stakeholders among others.
