Group Insists Aspirantion of Dr Baka for Lapai Agaie Federal Constituency of Niger State

An aspirant for the House of representative representing Lapai, Agaie federal constituency Doctor Aminu Mohammed Baka has been adjudged as the best candidate for the exalted position to be elected for the twenty twenty seven elections in Niger State.

This is contained in a statement issued by Coalition of Youth Movement under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) signed by it leader Hussaini Musa Bina in Minna, calling for the election of the aspirant for the betterment of the area.

He explained that among the aspirants that have indicated interest to contest for the seat of Lapai/Agaie federal constituency, Doctor Baka stands out as the best thing to happen to the constituent if elected to represent the constituency in the forthcoming elections.

The group also maintained that the APC stakeholders and party members attested to the fact that Doctor Aminu Baka is the most popular aspirant and that all  party faithful should vote for him at the scheduled primary election to fly the flag of the party at the general elections.

Hussaini Musa Bina stressed that if elected especially during the party primary election as the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress, the aspirant will be able to deliver at the general election and will ensure the realization of the party manifestos.

The group described the aspirant who is also the Badakoshin Lapai as an experienced, reliable, kind hearted, most competent, fearless, community oriented, listening and understanding, as well as an impactful and purposeful leader who is the peoples choice that can change Lapai/Agaie federal constituency narrative for better.

The APC stalwart insisted that Dr Aminu Mohammed Baka has been tasted and trusted following his community oriented projects over the years, adding that he is the best thing that can happened to
Lapai/Agaie federal constituency of Niger state if elected.

Similarly,The Coalition of Lapai Youth Associations (CLYA) has strongly criticized the attempt by the current member representing the Agaie/Lapai Federal constituency at the National Assembly to secure a third term.

During a national press conference in Minna, the convener, Mustapha Abdullahi Ba’AKA, urged leaders and stakeholders within Agaie/Lapai and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to reject this bid.

He emphasized that Hon. Abdullahi Mahmud Danasabe, who has served from 2019 to 2027, will have completed eight years in office, and his current pursuit of a third term conflicts with the previously agreed zoning arrangement.

The coalition appealed to Niger State’s Farmer Governor, His Excellency Umar Bago, as well as the State APC Chairman and all stakeholders, to maintain the integrity of zoning principles.

They warned against allowing frustration to grow among the youth, insisting that the seat should be returned to Lapai to restore political balance, loyalty to the party, and effective representation.

The coalition clarified that it has no preferred candidate, only supporting the “Lapai First Agenda.” It emphasized readiness to support any candidate from Lapai if the promotion of transparency and merit define the process.

In 2023, an agreement was established to zone the seat to Agaie. That agreement was respected, but now, the cycle has shifted. The coalition maintains that for fairness and justice, the 2027 seat must be allocated to Lapai LGA. This is a matter of political justice, not a request.

Agaie has held the position for 20 years, whereas Lapai has served only 8. Pursuing an additional term is viewed as not only a political move but an insult to the principle of “Brotherly Equity” that binds their constituency.
