Niger: N-HYPPADEC Ends Over Decades of Water Problems In Bina Community

The National Hydro-electric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC) has provided a complete solar power borehole to Bina community in Lapai local government area of Niger state to end over two decades of plight of the residents of the area

The Village Head of Bina, Alhaji Mohammed Umar in an interview appreciates the federal government through the Managing Director of the commission, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa for the intervention in the realization of the people’s dream of having a clean portable drinking water in Bina community.

While thanking God Almighty for giving the commission’s leadership the foresight, wisdom and unwavering commitment to ensure the success of the project despite hopes been lost at the begining of the project initiation over two years ago and appreciated the management of the N-HYPPADEC.

He further made a passionate appeal to the commission to also fulfil its pledge of providing solar street light to the community which will go a long way in ensuring security of lives and properties, while urging the commission to also assist in providing a classroom building to cater for the numbers of pupils enrollment in the village.

The royal father reiterated the commitment of the people to take full ownership of the project in times of protection and maintenance to ensure the durability and benefits of the project by the people of the community and beyond when officially handed over to them.

Alhaji Mohammed Umar commended and prayed for the son of the soil Comrade Yakubu Mustapha Bina who facilitated the projects through the National Hydro-electric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC) leadership intervention making it a reality.

It could be recalled that after over two decades of suffering lack of portable drinking water due to years of neglect and abandonment by the successive governments of Bina community in Lapai local government area of Niger state.
