A former senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue South, Daniel Onjeh, has said that no political smear will stop the re-election of Governor Hyacinth Alia.

Onjeh stated this in a press release issued in Makurdi on Tuesday.

He lamented that the repeated attacks against Alia administration were deliberate, adding that those responsible were threatened that the governor has refused to serve their political agendas.

“No campaign of calumny, smear, or sponsored attack will deter Governor Alia from securing re-election in 2027,” Onjeh said.

He added that the governor has already earned the trust, confidence, and goodwill of the people through his performance.

He explained that the attacks are deliberate efforts to distract the administration from its focus on delivering real results, while also trying to confuse the public with misinformation and noise.

Onjeh argued that Governor Alia’s government has recorded visible, people-focused achievements that surpass those of previous administrations since Nigeria returned to democracy in 1999.

“Governor Alia’s administration has recorded visible, people-oriented achievements that clearly surpass the performance of previous administrations since Nigeria returned to democratic governance in 1999. The present government has shown uncommon discipline, clarity of purpose, and commitment to addressing the real needs of ordinary citizens rather than pandering to elite political expectations.

“Benue is undergoing a quiet but deliberate transformation,” Onjeh said.

He noted that the governor is not given to noise-making or political theatrics.
