PROFESSOR YAHAYA KUTA HAILS GENERAL IBRAHIM BABANGIDA @ 85

Professor Mohammed Kuta Yahaya has hailed the former military President of Nigeria, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida for clocking 85 years celebration of his birthday.

Professor Kuta in a congratulatory message on this auspicious occasion of your 85th birthday, it is with profound admiration and deep respect that I, on behalf of the family, friends and associates, convey my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to you.

Born on this day in 1941 in Minna, Niger State, you emerged as a soldier, statesman, and visionary leader. Your tenure as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from 1985 to 1993 coincided with one of the most consequential and complex periods in our nation’s history.

That era witnessed enormous challenges, immense responsibilities, and the courage to make difficult decisions for the progress and stability of our country. Your leadership during those years had vital foundations for a better Nigeria.

The institutions you established remain an enduring legacy of your administration. Among those that have served the test of time are: The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA),

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC),

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC)

The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), The People’s Bank

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE), A new security architecture (SSS, NIA, DIA), Creation of additional states:

Akwa Ibom State, Katsina State, Abia State, Anambra State, Delta State, Edo State, Enugu State, Jigawa State, Kebbi State, Kogi State, Osun State, Taraba State, Yobe State.

He further highlighted the Construction of landmark infrastructures: Abuja Railway, Third Mainland Bridge, Abuja–Kano dual carriageway, among others.
