Dangote Petroleum and Petrochemicals Initial Public Offering Shares for 10 Million Retail Investors

The Dangote Group has officially launched its highly anticipated Dangote Petroleum and Petrochemicals Initial Public Offering (IPO) targeted at ten million retail investors in the country.
The historic signing ceremony the facility is located in the Lekki Free Zone of Lagos was held at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Victoria Island in Lagos.
Led by Aliko Dangote, President and Chief Executive of Dangote Industries Limited, the private refinery offered 4.1 billion ordinary shares (valued at $0.000013 each) for subscription to the public at Five Hundred and Twenty Five Naira per share.
According to reports, If fully subscribed, the landmark equity sale is positioned to raise approximately Two Point One Five Trillion Naira equivalent to One Point Six Billion Dollars, marking one of the largest capital market transactions in Nigeria’s history.
The regulatory milestone was made possible after the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved the launch of the Initial Public Offering (IPO)
This public offer represents the first time the refinery has opened its doors to public investors since its inauguration in twenty twenty three. Constructed over nearly a decade ago with an estimated investment of Twenty Billion Dollars.
Boasting a refining capacity of six hundred and fifty thousand barrels per day which stands as Africa’s largest single-train refinery and the first of its kind on the continent.
Speaking at the launch, President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, said the initiative is designed to broaden public participation in the company, particularly among small business owners and retail investors.
He stated that the initiative is also being presented as “Sharia-compliant ” with the broader objective of encouraging economic participation and supporting growth within society while discouraging activities that could cause harm to society.
