Arrival of Lakurawa Terrorists Group Threatens the Peace in Niger State Community

Some members of the Lakurawa terrorist group terrorizing people in Borgu and Agwara local government communities were reportedly sighted around Zugurma axis of Mashegu Local Government Area of Niger state, which shares border with Mokwa local council.
It was gathered that the terrorists in their numbers were seen on their motorcycles carrying sophisticated weapons moving freely creating fears within the residents of the community.
The community people were said to be watching them as if they were celebrities while they moved around without fear of attack or confrontation from any quarters.
A resident identified as Malam Sani has called on the Niger State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago and security agencies to assist a matter of urgency take a proactive approach before they eventually launch an attack on the innocent citizens that may result to lost of lives and property in the area.
According to findings, the said Lakurawa terrorists were trying to carry out surveillance activities in order to study the communities within the area with a possible negative intentions.
When contacted the Niger State command Police Public Relations Officer PPRO, SP Wasiu Abiodun said some group of bandits blocked Mokwa-Bussa road, and invaded Zugurma village Mashegu LGA, while they also attacked the police post in the village.
Abiodun added that joint security teams responded, and the bandits fled to Ibbi forest, while the road was cleared for motorists and normalcy was restored without any record of abduction. Further development will be communicated.
