AZZA Community Expresses Dismay Over Gov’t Neglect of Gulu-Ebbo-Muye Roads

Azza Community of Lapai local government area in Niger state have again expressed dismay over the deplorable state of Gulu- Ebbo to Muye roads that has turned to a dead trap over the years without government concern.

The residents and indigenes of  Lapai South especially the youths have appealed for urgent intervention for the reconstruction of the roads to bring to an end the long difficult the people are going through on the route which easily connects with Kogi state and the southern parts of the country.

They lamented that despite been supportive of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC led administration in the state and other level but has failed to look into the plight of the people of the area.

According to them, “elections are fast approaching Azza youths and voters are ready to mobilize for APC. But campaigning on this road is almost impossible due to dilapidated state of the road vehicles break down, our people suffer, and the opposition will use it against us”.

They are appealing to governor Mohammed Umar Bago’s APC led administration to as a matter of urgency look into the predicament of the residents of the area to ensure easy movement of farm produce to boost the economic activities of the community to return back the lost glory of its economic prosperity.

Stakeholders of Azza community have urged both elected, appointed and individuals to collaborate in ensuring the realization of the reconstruction of the road as a priority.

A driver Idris Salihu and motorist Dauda Hassan who often ply the road revealed that they usually spent about two hours from Lapai to Muye but now takes over six hours depending on the vehicle being used and calling for governments intervention as their vehicle life span is deteriorated on daily bases.
