Eid-el-Maulud: Niger Gov’t Declares Tuesday August 25th Public Holiday

Niger State Government has declared Tuesday, 25th August, 2026, a public holiday to commemorate the Eid-ul-Maulud celebration, marking the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
The declaration was approved by Governor of Niger State, Mohammed Umaru Bago, and conveyed by the Head of Service, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Idris, in a circular dated 24th August, 2026.
According to him, all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of the State are expected to observe the public holiday accordingly.
Apparently, personnel engaged in essential services are required to remain at their duty posts to ensure uninterrupted service delivery to the people of the state.
The Niger State Government however, felicitates with all public servants and residents of Niger State on the occasion and wishes them a peaceful and successful Eid-ul-Maulud celebration.
The Governor also enjoins citizens to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity and continued progress of Niger State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
