Governor Bago Approves N500 Million for Entertainers As Grant Scheme

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has ordered the establishment of the Niger State Entertainment Council and approved five hundred million naira as seed funding for the state’s Creative Grant Scheme.

Governor Bago gave the directive when he received entertainers from across the state on a solidarity visit at the Government House in Minna.

He also approved the construction of a state-of-the-art recording studio and support for capacity-building programmes for entertainers in the state, saying the measures are aimed at strengthening the creative industry and ensuring greater inclusion of entertainers across the state.

The Governor thanked the entertainers for their support and pledged to sustain his administration’s commitment to the growth of the industry.

Earlier, the Pro-Chancellor of Abdulkadir Kure University, Minna, Professor Mohammed Kuta Yahaya, said Niger State is blessed with talented entertainers, but noted that the potential of the industry has not been fully harnessed.

Also speaking, Alhaji Mohammed Baba Yahaya said entertainers in the state had endorsed Governor Bago for a second term, citing his performance and support for the industry.

He also proposed the establishment of the Entertainment Council and the Creative Grant Scheme to provide a structured framework for developing talents and supporting investment in the creative sector.
