Niger Gov. Approves Implementation of CONTTA for Both IBBUL, AKUM Varsity’s

Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger State has approved the implementation of the Consolidated Academic Tools Allawance (CATA) and the Consolidated Non-Teaching Tools Allawance (CONTTA) for the state owned Universities.
The affected universities are Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU) Lapai and the Abdulkadir Kure University Minna (AKUM) respectively.
Governor Bago in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government Abubakar Usman said the implementation takes effect from October 2026.
CATA is a tax-free financial grant to support academic staff in procuring essential tools and materials for teaching and research.
CONTTA is to enhance worker’s welfare, adjust hazard pay, and ensure industrial harmony in tertiary institutions.
The approval given by the Farmers Governor has further demonstrated his unwavering commitment to the development of education in the state.
