Fulani-Kamuku Clash Persists, Six Killed in Rafi LGA of Niger State

No fewer than six people have been reportedly killed, several others injured in a fresh attack in Tashan-Rimi, closed to Godoro in Rafi local government area of Niger State.

This is part of a reprisal attack between the Kamuku and Fulani which happened on Tuesday that had continued dispute the so call measures the state, local Government and Emirate council assured to have put in place after the two terrible attacks that earlier occurred recently.

According to sources, the steps taken did not yield any positive results hence the continue attack and killing due to lack of concrete measures put in place forestall its reoccurrence between the two groups in the area.

It was reliably gathered that the so call committees step up to investigate the circumstances surrounding the FULANI -KAMUKI crises, there were no law put in place for it enforcement  so as to prevent the escalation of the killings.

The Village Head of Tashan-Rimi, Alhaji Garba Mohammed Bissalla, in a telephone interview, confirmed that Six people are killed by the Fulani harders that attacked Musa Bahago and his son, Hamisu Musa and others last Tuesday  around one am midnight.

Alhaji Garba Bissalla expressed deep shock deep over the attacks, said that as the leadership of Kamuku continue to strictly obey the directives of Governor Mohammed Umar Bago by preaching to their subjects on the need for peaceful coexistence, however, on the part of the fulanis they have continued to threaten, killing and stealing their animals.

Alhaji Bissalla lamented that the federal, state and local Government have abandoned them to their faith in times of security and for the past 20 years they have not benefited from any social amenities.

He attributed the recent attack to the earlier crises that claimed the lives of over one hundred and six families with one extended family losing fourty five members.
